Lets share some pedal combinations made in Heaven, common sharing is good.

I recently went into a sonic-orgasm by using my TS808>Fireburst (Fuzz/Dist Pedal) >Noise Gate(this gate pedal pedal has made it possible to use both pedals stacked with no noise!!) then into Amp.

So my match in Heaven TS PEDAL>FUZZ>NOISE GATE>AMP.
That is my lead solo paradise hmm tasty and smoothy-gainy.. love it.

Other combo I love is OCTAVER>PHASE>AMP

Blondes>Brunettes>Red Heads oh that´s another fantastic tale.

Well, anything>Timmy, at least if we were TGP. I really like stacking ODs and dirty boosts, or ODs and ODs, but I imagine that's pretty much universal. One setup I've been having a lot of fun with, and using to get different lead/rhythm textures, is FB2>Gainster>Timmy>delay (Deep Blue, now). The Gainster's my base rhythm sound, I use the FB2 into the Gainster for fills, then the Gainster into the Timmy for leads. I also keep a Mo'D on my board in case I want to get nasty; I sometimes switch out the Gainster and/or the FB2 for other pedals, including a Blues Pro, Eternity, Hotcake, etc., depending on how I feel at the moment.

Treble boost -> Fuzz

In my case a BSM HS-C into a Cusack Screamer fuzz, but this may be the reason the Analogman Sun Lion and the Eternity sound so awesome.. TB's make everything sound like an exploding tube amp!

Div/13 Dynaranger>fatboost>OCD (nice lead tone w/ great cut through - dynaranger on #1-treble boost like rangemaste)
dynaranger>OCD(dynaranger on #3 more of a mid/treble boost)
dynaranger>fuzzfactory (nasty Jack White headache tone...in a good way)

Though I'm not a TGP'r by any stretch and resent the implication, a HoneyBee into a Timmy is well worth the effort to check out!

L*F*B recommendations for tonal PERFECTION:

HoneyBee=> Timmy
HoneyBee=> Timmy=> Coopersonic

BBOD=> Holy Fire
BBOD=>Holy Fire=> D*A*M Sonic Titan
BBOD=>Sonic Titan

Lucky I have two pedal boards.

Almost anything > Blackbox Cobalt

I should limit that 'anything' to dirt pedals in the low-to-medium/high range. Oh and all modulation too. Timmy is another beauty!

I have seen someone do almost the same thing using a fuzz and TS with the TS second in line. His thought was that way he could crank the fuzz and use the TS as a limiter to adjust the volume level.

Here is a piece written by DonneR and BJorn on this subject a few years back.
http://home.earthlink.net/~dr711/id18.html

The problem I have with stacking is that if you set three pedals to have some sort of magical tone together then you can not use them by themselves since the levels won't be right and more so if you are using all true bypass pedals.

If, on the other hand, the pedals are buffered bypass then you will have less of an issue with levels since the buffers appear to act like a limiter in a way.

In my rig I use a true bypass OD, which is on all the time to emulate a slightly broken up amp, and then kick on a second OD to boost for soloing. I settle on having the boost after the rhythm OD as I can also boost the over all level that way.

One stack idea that I thought sounded pretty cool was a cheap Dano Cool Cat Chorus into a Rockman Acoustic Guitar simulator. I would imagine a good chorus would even sound better.

If you want to try something completely different try this set up!
Yes, it does work and the second channel (vibrato/reverb) volume knob ends up being a blend of the wah/delay.

This idea came from Joe Gagan and there is a clip of it in action somewhere. The pedal before the wah is an Octiva. The guitar/fuzz into the amp had it's thing going on and then the octiva being manipulated by the wah added some very interesting upper end over tones to the guitar/fuzz tone. In the end it reminded me of Joe Satriani type tones. Very cool, imho.

Regards,
George
