Here are a few pentatonic licks I came up with after checking out a lot of Zawinul's stuff. They are in A minor pentatonic

----------------------------------------------------------------8---p---5
------------------------------------8---p---5-----------8---------------
-----------5--h---7----------7-------------------7---------------------
------5-----------------7-----------------------------------------------
--5----------------------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------5
--------------------------------------------------------5-------------8------5--
--------------------------5---------------7--------5-------5--h--7------7----
-------------7--------5-------5---h--7-------7-------------------------------
--5--h--7--------7-----------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
-14------12-sl--9-------12------9--sl--7-------9------7--sl--5-----7----5-sl-2
-----14------------12-------12-------------10-----10------------7----7-------
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
15----13-sl-10----13----10--sl--8----10-----8-sl--5------8---5--sl--3-----5---3-sl-1
---14----------12----12------------9-----9------------7-----7-----------5-----5--------2
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The above licks are in patterns of either 3 or 5. So playing them in 16th notes creates a cool rhythm.
Here's Zawinul's black Market in Bb major/ g minor pentatonic

10--13--10-------------------------------------------------------------------
------------13--11-----------11---------------------------------11--13------11---15
--------------------12--10-------12-------10--12------10---12-----------12---
-------------------------------------12-----------12-------------------------
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Black Market has a specific rhythm to it. You tube it. Some may not like the sound of the synths, but his writing is amazing. (fusion haters, ignore)

Sweet!

I managed to squeeze the 2nd. Lick into a song at practice, last night.

Man, have you got the Scott Henderson Instructional DVD?

He really gives out a LOT of useful stuff in that. And he played with JZ for awhile. So, I thought you may really dig his DVD.

I go back to it every few months, and pick something more from it.

He's always been one of my favorites. His instructional videos are really insightful. I like the one he made on phrasing. His quote is hilarious:
"I'd rather hear Albert King drop his guitar than listen to a traditional jazz player play 8th notes for a whole solo.

His phrasing is really cool and unexpected. he also has cool uses for pentatonics.
Plays them starting from the root, 5th, 2nd, flat 2nd.....
So all his blues licks sound...different?

Okay, here's some ideas inspired by Carl Verheyen. His String Skipping, in particular:

-|--------------------6-----|-|-------------10---------|-|--------------------
-|----------3-6-3-------8v--|-|----------------11b-8v--|-|--------------------
-|----------------5/7-------|-|-------10/12------------|-|--------------------
-|------3-5-----------------|-|------------------------|-|--------------------
-|--------------------------|-|--8/10------------------|-|--------------------
-|--3-6---------------------|-|------------------------|-|--------------------
Gm Pentatonic

-|------3h6p3---3------------------------------|-|----------------------------
-|--3h6-------6---6-3\1------------------------|-|----------------------------
-|--------------------------3p0----------------|-|----------------------------
-|----------------------3/5---------3p0----5v--|-|----------------------------
-|------------------------------3/5------------|-|----------------------------
-|--------------------------------------/6-----|-|----------------------------

Okay, here's something fun. It's a type of "Chord Scale" for the Am Pentatonic Scale. Cool for Rhythm Parts, as well as Improvisational stuff:

-|--------------------------------|-|-----------------------------------------
-|--1----3----5----8----10----13--|-|-----------------------------------------
-|--0----0----5----5----9-----12--|-|-----------------------------------------
-|--2----2----5----7----10----14--|-|-----------------------------------------
-|--0----x----7----5----------12--|-|-----------------------------------------
-|-------3------------------------|-|-----------------------------------------

So, I was messing around with the idea above, and came up with a fun Groove. Kind of a Medium Tempo with a Shuffle type Feel.

I'm thinking Am Dm and Em (E7).

-|------------------------------|---------------------------|------------------
-|------------3-1--------3-1---|-----------8-5----8---8-8--|-----------3-1----
-|------------0-0--------0-0---|-----------5-5----5h7-5-5--|-----------0-0----
-|------------2-2--------2-2---|-----------7-7----------7--|-----------2-2----
-|--------0-------------0------|-0-3p0-/5-------5-------5--|--------0---------
-|--0-3p0---------0-3p0-------|----------------------------|--0-3p0-----------

---------------|--------------------------|-------------------|-|--------------
---------3-1---|-----------5---8---8---5--|------8---5---8---|-|--------------
---------0-0---|-----------5---7---7---5--|------5---5---5---|-|--------------
---------2-2---|-----------5---5---6---5--|------7---7---7---|-|--------------
--------0------|--0-3p0-/7---7---7---7----|--6-5---5---5-----|-|--------------
--0-3p0--------|---------------------------|------------------|-|--------------

And a lot of people say pentatonics are boring... and repeatitive.

Being creative to me has always been about doing something within the set limits you have to deal with.

WORD!
Tell that to McCoy Tyner, John Coltrane, Hendrix, Duane Allman, Fela Kuti, Chick Corea, Grant Green, Bartok, etc.
