I got a vid up of the Fulltone MDV-2. There are tons of vids up on the RM. Toss up, both great. Now the more expensive RM Voodoovibe + does everything but the kitchen sink.

JB, I'd look into the MDV-2, those sound right up your street.

But I will let Carl and other Vibe experts comment more, I just decided a couple of years ago I wasn't much of a vibe guy and have stuck with phasers. For the time being...

Edit: Carl beat me to it...

You really got to let your ears decide. The Red Witch Moon Phaser is great alternative

While I am not an expert I had a dear friend that was so I will comment since I think his expertise wore off on me....LOL
My cousin is an eye surgeon so if you have any question ask away...LOL

The original Uni-vibe is the bar to which all others aspire to be.

That being said I have a few favorites with the original being #1.

Here is my list in no particular order

Sweet Sound Ultra Vibe
Sweet Sound Mojo Vibe with the swirly paint because it even looks cool
Fulltone Mini Deja Vibe
KR Vibe

Personally I own a Mojo and a Mini Deja and really like them both a lot.
I am on the list for an Ultra as well.

I had a KR and really liked it but the lure of money made me sell it.
Funny thing about that is the guy that bought it ended up selling it and using a Mojo because the sound didn't justify the dollars. (his words not mine)(he payed a lot for the pedal)

In the past I had tried a thing like the Deja 2 but the speed pedal didn't work like the speed pedal of real Uni-Vibe with most of the speed happening in a narrow band of the rocker thingy. Fulltone pedals all are rather bullet proof and I am not sure if the narrow band issue is the same with the UV2 but it's good enough for Robin Trower it's good enough for me.. :>)

Regards,
George

Hmm. I had the Mojo before I was just wanting to try something new this time.
From clips I've been hearing the Mayer sounds a little chewier. I know I should gte a phase to cover the chewy stuff, but I figure why try to cop vibe tones with a phaser when I want a vibe...the chewy aspect that's been intertwined with changing times and using pahser to cop vibe tones, that extra lowend girth on the deep pulse.
Been using a chorus as a leslie 90% of the time, I could forgo that and do the vibe.

The Mojo Vibe sounds pretty chewy in this clip

I picked up the mini deja a few months ago ( thanx Gand Toyz) and love it...not the new pedal one - old skool toe knob...use it way more than I thought I would...
