Default Combo amp, gainier...

Well, as I'm slowly making my way back I've gotten rid of a few things. Now I just got a call from the best darn drummer I've played with that he wants me to come to some impromptu jams with him. I realized, I don't have a decent combo (Deluxe sold)!
So, I'm thinking something with more gain, so less peds and more plug and play. Also, no big $ amps...can ya believe it!
Anyone try the Bogner Alchemist? Any others to check out since I've been away for quite awhile?

Hey JB, GP or GW I forgot which just did a piece on 6 medium powered combos that included the Kendrick k-15 (2 6l6s, 30W, 15" speaker, reverb), the alchemist, a Blackstar 2x12 that looks very good, the Soldano 44 (That has to be ordered direct from an specific store) and others. All of these seem to have enough gain.

Also, I saw today a Rivera Venus 1x12 that looks great (2 6V6s, 30W), didn't get a chance to hear it but if it sounds 1/2 as good as it looks it's a winner.

And howzabout a Suhr Badger 30 combo?

I would think the Mesa Mark V combo version would be the perfect thing for you...
Not cheap tho. You can check previous posts on this amp on here... or bug the usual suspect MezaDude but he'S not the only one on here who owns one or played it.

Key here is somewhat affordable!
If I was gonna spend big $ I'd try a Suhr Badger 30 combo I guess.

This is available as an head amp also... but that one really got me interested when I first heard it... videos and samples on that 1x12 p age Wich is the one that got my interest.

Traynor 1x12
Traynor 2x12

I'm quite happy with my rig so I didn't bother more than that but I took note as you never know when you'll be in need of something.

The Dr Z Monza amp looks nice. $1299. Look for headband Murphy's post.

I didn't even know about those Sawin. geez super affordable too! Dang, I've been gone for way too long!
Only darn thing, el84...love the tone, but usually never enough lows for my liking.
I'd love to have a 6v6 high gain combo man, anyone doing one?
Wattage isn;t the issue, basically portability. Gonna start going to a big man jam session and don't wanna lug a half stack.

there are a few Engl 1X12 combos that are about 1.2 or 1.3k, maybe one of those

Or a used Marshal VM or JVM.

Or yet, as someone else suggested here, a Egnater rebel.
