Default Best Tubescreamer?

If anyone seriously answers this I will send Williebudda over to pee on your Behringer pedals.

Not sure. It's a toss-up between:

TS808 (JRC chip)
TS808 (TI chip)
TS9
Ibz Metal Screamer
TS10
TS5
TS9 Reissue
TS7
TS808 Reissue
TS808 HW
Pedalworx Tejas
Addrock Ol' Yeller
MJM Blues Devil
Austin Retro OD
Retro-Sonic Eight-O-Eight
HBE Power Screamer
Visual Sound Route 808
Voodoo Labs Sparkle Drive

tho' the Analogwampkeelvodkacmat does a lot of the above.

I suppose if anyone wanted a TS sound anymore, the best sound-alike box to my ears is the Retro-Sonic Eight-O-Eight.

But why would anyone want a TS sound anymore?

Common trend is the 808 references by most of the tubescreamers.

"Best"-- depends on what each player is looking for.

I love my 808 reissue it feels like being part of my amp.

In the FWIW line of thought there maybe two basic camps: a) Mid Humpers and b) Non-mid humpers

I like the idea of my OD feeling part of my rig, enhancing my dirt channelīs tone, and making lead/harmonics notes happen easily.

Even if you have passed your TS phases I am loving mine.
Two TS I recommend a) MAXON 808 REISSUE b) Signa Drive (even though I havenīt try it for real)

As a kid I remember dumping a TS-808 on some poor unsuspecting sucker for $10.
I didn't get the pedal!
Where was the distortion and drive?
Can't play Sabbath with this POS pedal and Strats were out of the question as well.

Had to be Marshall/Humbuckers with a Boss Distortion pedal and a compressor for sustain.

Not until I walked into the Continental Club and saw SRV, in 1981, did I ever see how the darn pedal was supposed to be used.

I wonder if Jimi ever tried one......
