Okay, it's time to start soaking it all in! Here's the Link to the 2009 TOYZ HOLIDAY CD!!!!

http://www.soundclick.com/bands/defa...&content=music

So, I hope everybody enjoys the Tunes! And if you want to contribute, send me a WAV or Mp3 File, and I'll add it to the Project.

I've kept the original post, below. But, I thought it would be good to have the Link to the Soundclick Page right here at the top.

And for those of you who might need some help, here's a copy of the John Fahey Christmas Guitar Book:

http://drop.io/JohnFaheyXmasBook

Check it out! Good Arrangements, and Tasty Tunes!

It's that time again.

Time to bust out the Holiday Cheer, and share it with your TOYZ Buddies.
Time to share the positive vibes of the "Holiday Season"!

And it doesn't matter what Holiday you celebrate. It's open to all who want to bask in the warmth of Friendship and all that other mushy, good stuff.

Yes, that's right. It's time to fire up the 2009 Edition of THE TOYZ HOLIDAY CD!!!!

For the "Newbies", this is where anyone who wants to send me a WAV or Mp3 of them playing a Holiday Tune, can join in!

I will PM you my email address, and then when you email me the File I will post it to a SoundClick Site for everybody to listen to. Some people allow theirs to be Downloaded, some prefer to make them available just for listening to on the SoundClick page. Either is fine.

I will get the SoundClick Page ready soon. And we will start adding Tunes as people send them to me.

Any "Holiday Tune" is fair game. And it doesn't matter if it's already been done by somebody else. 2 or 3 versions of the same Tune? Cool! There's plenty of room for them all!

I am still deciding on what Tune I want to do this year. And I am open to suggestions.
Last year, I was working on "You're A Mean One, Mister Grinch", and I didn't finish it! D'oh!

So, this year, I'm getting an early start.
And that's why I posted this Thread already. I know it's kinda early to be thinking of "Holiday Season". But, I wanted to give everyone (including myself) enough time to get something together.

So, please feel free to join in the fun! I know that I always enjoy listening to my "TOYZ HOLIDAY CDs" as I am around home throughout the "Season".
It really is satisfying to hear music made by the many Friends I have made here at the MusicToyz Forum. It just seems like knowing you all made the Music, makes it much more "real" and authentic.

Stay Tuned!

So far, I'm considering Carol Of The Bell, Deck The Halls, or even a Medley. Still not decided.

Already euh... I promised myself I'd get some recording setup going for this year's... still not done

I guess I need to start hunting down a copy of the free ProTools they had and didn't replace. I don't care for plug-ins since I can use my Lexicon thru USB as a plug-in but with hardware instead of cpu power.

Then a Blue Icecicle to get in to an USB port from XLR and I'd be set.

I have an idea on how to arrange and track it I just need a way to record and a to pick a song :S

Well, I already had Students asking about Holiday Tunes, Shows they're in, etc. So, I thought a "head's up" to everyone here wouldn't hurt.
And see......you've still got to put together a Rig to record with. Get Cracking, Chap! LOL

So yeah, it seems really early to me, also. But like I said, last year I didn't even finish the tune I was working on. So........

What's the name of that old Minor Key Tune? King Wensenslas?

I'm thinking about that one, too. But, anybody got some ideas, let me know.

(Unless of course, you want to use a tune for your own offering! )

Glorbz,

Reaper is (I think) a Freebie:

http://www.kvraudio.com/news/12505.html

Also, KRISTAL Audio Engine. As well as Audacity.

One of those may get you what you want.

I think the free Pro Tools version is limited to 2 Tracks. Not sure though.

No, not necessarily. Anything you want to contribute would be cool.

Souzaphone/Nose Flute/High Strung Bouzouki, whatever! Scratching LPs and Vocals? Bring it on! LOL

Comedy is fine too!

Just something in a positive vibe.

Jump on in, the waters' fine.........
