So, anybody use these? I'm thinking of trying them in the Ghia. Maybe with a 212 Cab also. I love the Texas Heats in the 212. But, I am curious about these.

I went through a phase where I was using the red AlNiCo hemp speakers about a decade ago. I have a 2x12 TT cab with them, plus two Avatar 1x12s with them. I also had one in my Deluxe Reverb, but had to switch to a ceramic when I installed a new output tranny, because the chassis would no longer fit into the cab.

They are nice speakers. Very loud, with tight lows and great low/mid punch. The AlNiCos are not as bright as a Bulldog, which IMO, is a good thing. I've since started using Lead-80s, but should probably revisit the TTs.

The TT Alnico is a very cool speaker, not necessarily better or worse than other stuff, but definitely different. It is the most 3d sounding speaker I have used. Playing my iPod through it (in mono) it almost sounds stereo. I also found the amp reverb seems to seem a lot more dimensional and alive when playing through it. I compared to a Celestion Gold (both in the same kind of cab) and they both sounded great. Depending on what I was after in terms of a particular sound I would choose one over the other, but I wouldn't say either was better.
