Default Got a new video out :)

It's become tradition already to spam these here... You guys will probably like the '62 Strat that the studio owns though

Really nice arrangement and great vocals AB. You said somewhere before you weren't really a 'strat guy', but I'm wagering the '62 may have you re thinking that....sits in the mix really well. What vox mic were you using?

Ha, I've had so many comments on the strat It's the sound the track needed, though I still generally feel a lot better with a Gibson.. Vocal mic is a Shure SM7! Beat out the venerable Telefunken U47 that's literally 50x the price...

Your vocals have improved! The mix is awesome. That SM7 suits your voice and the song for sure.
Your style is solidifying you obviously are more comfortable with it. Dig the strings live in the room setup.

Curious what was actually played back in the monitores behind you since you were on headphone, unless it's a video thing

Great work and seems like a wonderfull place to record. I'd feel right at home in that place myself

Thanks man! That studio is absolutely amazing... Great guitar collection (played a '59 ES175 on another tune, '58 ES335 on the record, as well as a '52 Goldtop and an amazing custom shop Les Paul), drum collection, mics..

Really dug the SM7 too. Maybe not for pristine ballad stuff where you need that condenser top end, but for more rock stuff it's great. The vintage Neve board probably helped too though

The monitors behind me were for guitar, just to excite the room a bit and to get some more sustain happening.

Yeah, the SM7 works nice for your vox. Bruce Swedien used it for Michael's vocals on Thriller, I guess those guys could have used a U47 if they wanted also...
*the Neve had more than a little to do with the quality of the vocals.

Though they went back and forth between that and the, currently 10,000$, Sony C800...

A Neve pre is a sweet thing... been lucky to experience that for 6months straight. So I dream of having a nice Neve pre (or clone of) eventually.

I interceded on your behalf with the EBAY seller for this unit for your home studio. I talked the guy down to $15,999 especially for you

*Ben. My friend I'm working with now is building up his home studio, and this is something I really geeked on. An absolutely killer combo is this tube condenser (multi pattern) and channel strip. Sound is as fat, 'specially on vocals, as Nicky Minajs' rear end proving tubes have a use in other than guitar amps.....sorry to derail the thread NjLo
