One of my all time favorite players. An amazing composer as well as a guitarist.

One of the greats. I saw Dire Straights on the tour they recorded Alchemy on. It wasn't just another show, more of an amazing sonic musical experience.

I remember as a kid being on vacation in Anaheim California back in 1979 and hearing Sultans of Swing on the radio for the first time and was hooked and I've never looked back. I'm really a big fan of his solo music and the frist two Dire Straits albums. I like his Irish sound to his solo stuff especially like on Golden Heart.

I remember that me and my girlfriend at the time were totally into that record! Myself so much so that I wrote a 'record review' for my school newspaper.

He's the one who inspired me to learn how to play lead without a pick. His tone is so cool.
