Default OT:Great Current Singers with Great Songs

I know we are all about guitars, but I'm also a singer and love a great voice singing a great song. What current singers are you guys enjoying?

Lately I've been wishing I could find someone that has that sort of funky, soulful thing happening, but with a nice raw or textured voice.

Sting (we all knwo who that is)
Colin James (canadian guy, well established but maybe not as much on your side of the border)

Both are more than singers... but those are teh first two that popped in mind when I saw the question.

I've been listening to Eli "Paperboy" Reed. Great new soul music.

I really liked Marc Broussard's last CD and Joss Stone has a great voice. I'll have to check the others out.

Saw Jackie Greene open for Los Lobos in '04 at the Fillmore. First song was "Messin' With the Kid" and we
were like meh. Then he picked up his acoustic. Really, I've rarely been so impressed. His original work was, and still is, outstanding. Among others, check out "Don't Mind Me, I'm Only Dying Slow." Great writer, singer and performer.

BTW, after his first three discs which have a similarity running through them, he has consistently moved on and tried new things. I dig it all, but especially the first ones.

    Mostly anything Black Crowes.
Outside of the box, I think the guy from Shinedown has a great Rock voice.
