Learning a language under hypnosis state of mind seems radical but not believable.

A chip downloaded into our brains seems a scientific possibility.

Our brains uses electrical messages so its just a matter of re-creating them and learning away in abundance.

Learning to play like all my rock -icons (heck even like Andres Segovia) that would be nice just by taking a hypnotic guitar course??:atthemovies:

Predicting some logical responses I will include "learning to develop my own style under hypnosis=ultimate lazy-dream":bump:

However evil-pedal companies might hypnotize us into liking their products. I would´t mind thinking I like cheaper pedals..

Share brothers there might actually exist some fun hypnotic-guitar course... Ideas????

I've been playing around with the blackout effectors hoof fuzz. I've never really played w/fuzz too much, but I like what I'm hearing with this one.

What fuzz will get me closer to Hendrix's tone at the fillmore? Or Gilmour's fuzz tone.

I know they are different, but I like both. The hoof is based on a russian big muff. I really like it, but I want to try something more dynamic?

There are so many fuzzes I don't know where to start......

I would suggest getting to know the 'start time' for each speaker as listening through is not as useful as A/Bing. And it goes through two different types of riffs, so that is helpful as well. The comparison is by no means comprehensive, though it does go through most of the significant models in the Celestion line.

Also, as I've mentioned here before, the Eminence site is really useful for similar kind of comparisons, though the weakness is that it's only comparing Eminence speakers. I'm not a Celestion guy, but Eminence does have a lot of speakers that are tonal cousins to Celestions models for these comparison purposes, if nothing else.

My opinions:
I have to say that most of the speakers here sounded bad to me. I was really surprised at the tonality and sensitivity of the tone tubbys, though there are probably other better and more expensive versions out there that are more impressive in their tone. But everyone is looking for something different in their speakers!

In general, my favorite of this comparison was the Swamp Thang, by far. It sounds super dark after the alnico gold (what doesn't?) and next to all the biting British type speakers, but it's just the tone I've gone for, where it peaks in high mids and sounds plenty full in all frequencies, without the fizz at 6k.

I thought the Celestion G12H30 was a good and full sounding speaker, and the Greenback was as well - great to finally hear a greenback do it's thing. Still, both of those speakers have a little of that high frequency sizzle I shy away from; I tried a Z Maz 38 and LOVED it, except for that frequency under distortion for leads - and it turned out it had a G12H30 in it, which is probably why I couldn't dial it out.

Same thing with the Eminence Tonker - I think it had a good sound for a British sounding speaker though not my thing, as it also has that extra sizzle I don't care for, though more mids and lows than most of the other British type.

Lastly, it's hard not to think the Alnico Gold is a good sounding speaker. If you want a clear, chimey, cutting sound, that's the tone. To my ears, it pulls it off better than an otherwise warm ceramic speaker but with a sizzle at the top. Though again, the gold is probably not my kind of speaker, it just sounds 'natural' and to my ears it's high end is dominant yet 'even,' rather than spikey, by comparison. The Jensen P12N Alnico was a surprise - slightly different flavor than the Celestion Alnico, but a good tonal variant if your going for that ballpark; I may have liked it better, even.

There was a thread not long back about how much power is appropriate for a gigging musician. I ran into a situation over the weekend-had a gig up in the Sierra Foothills in a town called Garden Valley for their annual Hot Rod and Motorcycle Show. Outdoor gig, hundreds in attendance. All I had was my Jauernig 18 Watt Bluesbreaker. Now I didn't fall off the turnip truck yesterday, I knew that was going to be problematical, and 'twas. The guitarist in the following act 'The Buzztones' told me mid gig 'I had killer tone'. Yeah, the leads were rather tasty if I do say so myself, the Jauernig is pure early ZZ Top, AC/DC etc. No clean headroom at all no surprise there. So when I saw a 1972 Fender Pro Reverb for $600 in clean condition on our local Craigslist I snatched it up. Damn, hard to find a decent Fender reissue amp for that. Anyways, the tremolo and reverb sound great, as can be expected. It has the 70's Fender Oxford speakers, not the finest speaker for sure so I might swap those out and keep the originals in a box.. If anyone has any comments, experiences with or suggestions as to speaker or tube replacement etc for this amp I would be all ears. I haven't gigged with it yet, but I have a feeling my clean headroom dilemma may be for the most part solved.

I'm finally taking the plunge into the high-ish end cable world, but Toyz has a bewildering array of (three) options. Which to choose? I like the look of the Analysis cable, have heard only praise for the Evidence, and the Cornish also looks cool and is a bit cheaper. I'm happy with my DiMarzios, but wondering if I might be missing something, tone-wise. Thoughts?
